Rivalling popular models in the budget segment, Chevrolet Spark had a strong run until competition intensified and it started to lose momentum. Sporty stance and affordable pricing acted as an impetus, however with the launch of newer models claiming their credibility, Spark got overpowered in the small car space. Currently, it is available in petrol variants with a choice of manual transmission.
Starting from Rs 3.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Spark competes with Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Hyundai Eon and Datsun Go in the segment. Powered by the 995cc SMARTECH petrol engine good for 62bhp at 5400rpm and 90Nm at 4200rpm, it uses a five-speed manual transmission to channelize power to front wheels and is claimed to deliver 16.20km/l under standard conditions.
