Highlights

After unveiling the all new Jaguar XE at the recently concluded 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the British luxury carmaker has now featured the car on its Indian website, saying 'A new Jaguar is coming'. To be pitted against BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4, the Jaguar XE will be launched globally in 2015, including India.

The new Jaguar XE will be the first product to utilise the new aluminium architecture, which was showcased in the C-X17 concept vehicle in 2013. According to the company, the aluminium structure will help the car in 'exceptional handling, performance, refinement and efficiency'.

The XE will be offered with a new engine line-up called 'Ingenium' in different capacities and power output options. The Ingenium engine range will offer a flexible engine architecture that can be configured to suit in-line and transverse installations and use in both all-wheel and rear-wheel drive configurations. The company says that the new engine family will be 2.0-litre in size with four-cylinder configuration, and will be made available in both petrol and diesel options. Jaguar claims these engines to produce emissions as low as 100g/km and touch a top speed of 300 km/h. However, we cannot be sure of these claims, till the vehicle is finally rolled out.
