Highlights

In line with the promise made of expanding its SUV range to 5 models by year's-end, Hyundai has unveiled its new sub-compact SUV albeit as a concept. Called the HNB14, the new car slots in between two of its more popular SUV offerings- the smaller Hyundai i20 Active crossover and the Hyundai Creta compact SUV. The new subcompact shares its engines with other offerings from the Hyundai family such as the i20 Active and Creta.

Built on the same platform as the Hyundai Grand i10, the front facade of the car features Hyundai's trademark trapezoidal front grille flanked on either side by the head-lamps.

    Hyundai Carlino Sub-Compact SUV

With the unveiling of the all new subcompact SUV and all-new Hyundai Tucson, both of which are expected to arrive in India sometime later this year, Hyundai will be on track to offer an SUV all the way from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 30 lakh in India by 2016-end. The Hyundai HNB14 Concept will compete with other subcompact SUVs and premium hatchback crossovers like the Ford EcoSport, Mahindra TUV300, Fiat Avventura, recently launched Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the Volkswagen Polo Cross. The car is likely to cost between Rs 7.5 lakh - Rs 10 lakh.
