German racing team Kodewa, was to enter the 2014 World Endurance Championship under the Lotus banner, competing in the LMP1-L category for private teams. It was to make its debut in the third round of the championship at this weekend's 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, there was news that the team has withdrawn from the race but it does not stop them from revealing the new Lotus LMP P1/01prototype.

Lotus LMP has unveiled their new P1/01 race car at the 24 hours of Le Mans and this one is designed to compete in the LMP1 L privateer racing class. The car features a carbon composite monocoque chassis and a black and gold livery - typical of a Lotus.

It receives the AER twin-turbo V6 engine which is mated to a six-speed sequential transmission and what is even more interesting is that with all the technology, it weighs in at only 850 kgs.

The car will start its round of testing now and is scheduled to compete at the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas in September. The drivers who will be behind the wheel will be Christijan Albers, Christophe Bouchut, Thomas Holzer, Pierre Kaffer and James Rossiter.
