    Mercedes-Benz C-Class has received another variant in its line-up in India. The all-new C 250 d, along with C 200 and C 220 d, now takes the tally of the luxury sedan's variants in India to 3. Recipient of 'The World Car of the Year' award, Mercedes-Benz C 250 d is the fastest and the most powerful car in its segment. Interestingly, with the launch of the new variant, Mercedes-Benz has also introduced its 9G-TRONIC transmission for the first time in the C-Class.

    With the aforementioned launch, the German carmaker has also started its local production here.

    Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India commented, "The all new C-Class completely redefined the mid-size luxury sedan segment in India and created for itself a new territory of supremacy. The inherent success of this 'World Car of the Year' is evident from the fact that, the C-Class remains an unrivalled product in its segment, emerging as the highest sold model in our portfolio in 2015. With the introduction of the technologically advanced new C 250 d, we further bolster our position and are confident of continuing its unmatched success in India."

    The latest variant of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will come powered by the most powerful and fastest engine in the segment: the 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine . It develops 201bhp along with a maximum torque of 500Nm @ 1600-1800 rpm, which is the highest in the segment. The sedan can go from standstill to 100Km/h in 6.6 seconds on its way to an electronically-limited top-speed of 247Km/h.

    List of provisions on the Mercedes-Benz C 250 d include Intelligent assistance systems that comprises the LED Intelligent Light System, Reversing camera with 180-degree view, Attention Assist, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, and the Garmin MAP PILOT, 17-inch alloy wheels, and ambient lighting. Whereas for safety, it gets ABS, BAS, ESP, ASR, Hill Start Assist, etc..
