Bugatti is continuing its six-part edition series, "Les Legendes de Bugatti", at the Geneva Motor Show to honour some of the more important people in the company's history. This time around Bugatti has chosen its prodigal son as the honoree for its latest Legend edition.

The fourth of six limited series models, the Rembrandt Bugatti edition is based on the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse roadster, and follows the Jean-Pierre Wimillie, Jean Bugatti and Meo Costantini editions that came before and which have all sold. Rembrandt Bugatti was known for casting animal sculptures in bronze and the company even calls him the foremost of artists of the 20th century.

In fact, one of his creations - the rearing elephant - became Bugatti's hood ornament, which made its way on the nose of the Type 41 Royale. "Rembrandt Bugatti was an exceptional sculptor. He represents the strong artistic roots of the Bugatti family, as did his father, Carlo," said Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., at the presentation of the Legends edition. "As vehicle developer and founder of the Bugatti brand, Ettore was also inspired by this artistic heritage. Art is of course one of our three brand values, namely 'Art, Forme, Technique'. This makes Bugatti unique in automotive history, and was the reason we dedicated this striking Legends model to Rembrandt Bugatti."

The Rembrandt Bugatti edition is distinguished by its two-tone brown and bronze colour scheme. The brightwork is done up with a platinum finish, the wheels follow the same two-tone theme as the bodywork and the interior is upholstered in cognac leather and emblazoned with the elephant symbol throughout.

As all Bugatti's go, this one too comes at a price and that is Euro 2 million and only three units will be made. We are guessing, these too might soon be picked up.
