Spy images of the undisguised Maruti Suzuki Celerio have surfaced online giving us a proper view of its exterior ahead of launch. The second-gen Celerio gets a complete makeover and is now underpinned by the Heartect platform. Images suggest that the new-gen model is bigger, and it will come with a host of design and styling updates along with several new and updated features. Top-end variants will also get elements like LED daytime running lights (DRLs), alloy wheels, LED taillamps, and chrome inserts.

The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to have a bigger wheelbase.

The profile of the car also gives an idea of its bigger wheelbase and glasshouse area. The rear too looks a bit wider and continues with its rounded proportions and similar wraparound taillights. Then, you also get to see new alloy wheels that look 14-inchers in size. Though we don't have any image of its cabin yet, but even interiors are expected to get a major overhaul both in terms of design and creature comforts. So expect to see the Smartplay Studio 2.0 infotainment system in the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Celerio as well.

Under the hood, the new generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to get the BS6-compliant 1.0-litre three-cylinder K10B petrol engine. The motor develops 66 bhp and 90 Nm of power figures. Transmission options will include a five-speed manual and an optional five-speed AMT unit. Moreover, the CNG variants are also likely to be on the cards. However, the car is also rumoured to continue with the 1.2-litre petrol engine from the Wagon R, which makes 82 bhp and 113 Nm of torque.
