2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Launched At Rs 8.23 Lakh

- Priced Rs 10,000 higher than the 2026 model
- Torque rises to 62.4 Nm (up 1.4 Nm); power unchanged at 61 bhp
- New Metallic Carbon Gray colour option offered
Kawasaki has rolled out the updated Vulcan S for 2027, and while it's not a ground-up overhaul, there are a handful of tweaks worth knowing about. The cruiser now costs Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 10,000 more than what you would have paid for the 2026 version. Deliveries of the 2027 Vulcan S have already begun.

Coming to the updates. The 649cc parallel-twin engine now makes 62.4Nm of torque, a gain of 1.4Nm over the MY26 model. Interestingly, this is actually the same torque figure the 2024 model used to produce, so Kawasaki's essentially brought it back. Power output, though, hasn't moved at all as it stays at 61 bhp. Everything else on the mechanical side has been left untouched.
Other changes are seen in the braking hardware. The front disc drops from 300mm to 272mm, and the rear shrinks from 250mm down to 216mm. Dual-channel ABS remains part of the package.

On the styling front, Kawasaki has swapped out the 2026 model's Metallic Flat Spark Black for a new shade called Metallic Carbon Grey (Bluish Green). Beyond that, it's business as usual for the Vulcan S. The analogue-digital instrument cluster carries over, and suspension is still handled by a telescopic fork up front offering 130mm of travel, paired with a rear monoshock giving 80mm. The cruiser also sticks with its 18-inch front and 17-inch rear radial tyre combination.

As things stand, the Vulcan S still doesn't have a direct rival in the Indian market. The Honda Rebel 500 and Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 come closest in terms of positioning, but the latter sits at a significantly lower price point.
