Auto Expo 2018: Hyundai i20 Facelift Spotted Again Ahead Of Official Debut

The 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift will come with updated exterior styling and new features. Mechanically the car will remain unchanged. The car will be launched at the Auto Expo 2018.

Ahead of its official debut at the Auto Expo 2018, a production unit of the upcoming Hyundai i20 facelift has been spotted completely undisguised. This is the second time the facelifted version of the popular premium hatchback has been spotted ahead of its public debut since last week and this time around we see a new Orange body colour as well. The new colour is similar to the Flame Orange of the new Verna sedan and there will also be a blue share similar to the Marian Blue of the new Elantra. The 2018 Hyundai i20 facelift comes with fresh styling, minor cosmetic updates and a bunch of new features on offer.

Visually speaking, the spy images confirm that, the Hyundai i20 facelift will come with an updates face, with the new black cascading grille, revised headlamps with new LED daytime running lamps, and a new bumper housing the new arrowhead foglamps, and an integrated spoiler. The rear, on the other hand, looks a lot fresher with the new taillamp cluster, new sculpted hatch door, and an all-new rear bumper with large matte black insert and reflectors. Based on the previous spy images, the i20 facelift also comes with a new set of stylish diamond cut alloy wheels.

The cabin design will largely remain unchanged will continue to come with the same beige and black dual tone treatment. The AC vents now have a brushed silver surround around them and other minor touches. The infotainment cluster, however, is all new and features a larger touchscreen panel. Expect the i20 to come packed and loaded with inbuilt navigation, Apple Carplay and Android Auto like earlier but with a nicer and more responsive screen.

Under the hood, the Hyundai i20 facelift will continue with the same 82 bhp 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual unit, and an 89 bhp 1.4-litre U2 CRDI diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car also gets a more powerful 99 bhp 1.4-litre dual VTVT petrol engine that comes mated to a 4-speed automatic torque converter.
