Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has unveiled the Suzuki Burgman maxi-scooter at the Auto Expo 2018. Globally, the Suzuki Burgman is available in a wide range of engine sizes from 125 cc to 638 cc. For India though, Suzuki will only introduce the Burgman with new 125 cc engine shared with Suzuki's bestselling Access 125 scooter. The Suzuki Burgman will be the first of its kind maxi-scooter boasting of a big, bulky size, 14-inch wheels and loaded with a range of features.

The Suzuki Burgman runs on telescopic front suspension with a front disc brake, rear twin shocks, front windshield, large underseat storage and a lightweight, easy to manoeuver chassis. The Suzuki Burgman also features two front storage compartments with 7-litre capacity. One is lockable with the ignition key, while the other is push-open for easy access. The lower lockable storage bay has a 12V DC outlet for charging electronic devices.
The Suzuki Burgman 125 has a fuel tank capacity of 10.5 litres, and a kerb weight of 110 kg. The Burgman 125 is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 125 cc engine which makes 10.7 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 10 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Suzuki claims a fuel economy of 40 kmpl from the fuel-injected engine of the Burgman 125. The maxi scooter is expected to be launched towards the end of 2018, or even early 2019, and prices are expected to be around Rs. 70,000-75,000 (ex-showroom).
