2020 BMW X6
The new BMW X6 launched in India is the third-generation of the coupe SUV and now it is bigger, smarter, more aggressive and more feature packed. In India, the coupe SUV competes with the likes of the Audi Q8 and Porsche Cayenne Coupe.
The new third-gen BMW X6 comes in two variants - X6 xDrive40i xLine and X6 xDrive40i M Sport. Both are largely similar to each other with regards to features and equipment but largely vary in terms of their styling package.
The new BMW X6 coupe SUV comes with double barrel full-LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps and automatic headlights function. The SUV also gets a new, LED foglamps.
The new BMW X6 is offered with a larger, more embossed kidney grille, an aggressive front bumper. While the coupe SUV comes in a range of colour options, this particular one is the Tanzanite Blue shade.
The new BMW X6 we tested came with a set of 20-inch Star-spoke style M light alloy wheels, however the company offers a range of wheel options in 20-, 21- and 22-inch sizes.
The rear section features a set of sleek, wraparound LED tail-lamps and sculpted boot lid, and a beefy bumper with heavy cladding, a rear diffuser and optional M Sport exhaust system.
In terms of dimensions, the new X6 is longer by 26 mm at 4,935 mm and wider by 15 mm at 2,004 mm. The wheelbase too increases by 42 mm to 2,975 mm, although the height is now reduced by 6 mm at 1,696 mm.
The cabin too has been updated and the new BMW X6 comes with two 12.3-inch displays, four-zone climate control, multifunctional power seats with massage function, and Wilkins 3D sound system with 20 speakers.
In line with the company new styling language, the BMW X6 also comes with the glass finished gear-lever as an optional feature. This one, of course, is an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission.
The 12-inch infotainment system comes with gesture control, Apple CarPlay (wireless) and navigation with 3D maps, and it also doubles up as the display for the Surround View system and rear parking camera.
The new BMW X6 gets a 5-seater layout with Vernasca leather upholstery, rear AC vents with automatic climate control, foldable central armrest, and three-point seat belts for all three seats at the rear.
The new BMW X6 is a petrol-only SUV and only gets one engine option - a turbocharged 3.0-litre, in-line six-cylinder petrol engine tuned to make 335 bhp at 5,500-6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm at 1,500-5,200 rpm.
