2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift
The third-generation Hyundai Verna received its mid-life facelift this year, and along with a host of cosmetic changes and updated features, the compact sedan now also comes with new BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines.
The highlight for 2020 Hyundai Verna is the addition of the Turbo variant, which comes with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This particular variant also comes with a few additional cosmetic elements to differentiate it from the regular Verna.
The Hyundai Verna Turbo comes with an aggressive and sportier styling with black exterior elements. Upfront, the car comes with a glossy black grille, black ORVMS, in addition to the LED headlamps, new bumper and foglamps.
The Hyundai Verna Turbo also comes with a much sportier rear section with a revised bumper with black styling patterns on either end, a rear diffuser, and a dual exhaust system.
The Hyundai Verna Turbo is based on the top-end SX(O) variant and thus comes with all the bells and whistles that the SX(O) variant has to offer. This includes the dual tone 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. In fact, it's the only variant to get all 4 disc brakes.
Inside, unlike the other variants, the Hyundai Verna Turbo gets dark interiors, with all-black dashboard and matching black leather upholstery. The cabin also gets contrast red accents around the air-con vents and seat, along with similar red stitching for the leather-wrapped gear lever.
The new Hyundai Verna facelift comes with a 7-inch touchscreen HD display with BlueLink connected car technology, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among other connectivity features.
The 2020 Hyundai Verna also continues to come with a sunroof, along with a few other features like - ventilated seats for driver and front passenger, automatic climate control, black shark-fin antenna and more.
The BS6 compliant 998 cc turbocharged engine is tuned to churn out 118 bhp at 6,000 rpm and develops a peak torque of 172 Nm at 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. The Verna's Turbo GDi motor comes mated to the 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) with paddle shifters.
In terms of safety the car comes with - 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) front parking sensors, ECM with Telematic Switches on IRVM, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and Burglar Alarm.
