2021 Jeep Compass Facelift
The new Jeep Compass Facelift went on sale in India in January 2021. The updated SUV comes in five variants - Sport, Longitude (O), Limited (O), Limited (O) 80th Anniversary Edition and Model S. The mid-size SUV has received a slew of upgrades over the predecessor.
The new Jeep Compass facelift looks more aggressive and refined than the outgoing model. It gets a bigger chrome finished seven-slat grille, sleek-looking new LED headlamps with LED DRLs, redesigned bumper, tweaked faux skid plate, bigger air dam and more.
The 2021 Compass hasn't changed much with regards to its dimensions, but it now comes with a new diamond cut dual tone 5-spoke alloy wheels and a two-toned black contrast roof.
At the rear, the 2021 Jeep Compass now gets revised LED taillights, revamped tailgate design and new bumpers. Do note, the top-of-the-line trim features body-coloured bumpers and sill cladding. It also gets a two-toned dark grey contrast roof, instead of a black one.
The facelifted version of the Jeep Compass is available in seven colours - Magnesio Grey, Brilliant Black, Exotic Red, Minimal Grey, Galaxy Blue, Techno Metallic Green and Bright White, wherein the last three shades are all-new.
On the mechanical front, the SUV remains unchanged. It continues to be offered with the same set of powertrains as seen on the previous model. Both the BS6 compliant powertrains are 1.4-litre Multi-air petrol and 2.0-litre Multi-jet diesel unit. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox, an optional 9-speed torque converter and a 7-speed DCT automatic, respectively.
The cabin of the Compass SUV has been revamped extensively. It gets more premium interiors, a new dashboard, a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen with FCA's UConnect 5 technology, premium soft-touch materials, three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, ventilated seats up front, eight-way power adjustment with memory function, 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster and more.
As for safety, the 2021 Jeep Compass comes equipped with seven airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and a bunch of electronics including electronic stability program (ESP), brake assist (BA), terrain modes, hill assist (HA) and hill descent control (HDC) among others.
As far as competition is concerned, the 2021 Jeep Compass competes against Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Skoda Karoq and the Hyundai Tucson. Prices for the 2021 Jeep Compass Facelift start at Rs. 16.99 lakh and go up to Rs. 28.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
