Hyundai Aura Subcompact Sedan
Based on the Grand i10 Nios, the Hyundai Aura is essentially the new-gen avatar of the Xcent. The Hyundai Aura co-exists with the Xcent, and caters to personal car buyers.
The Hyundai Aura comes with bold exterior styling, and its design has largely generated mixed opinions. Up front, the car gets Hyundai's signature cascading grille, with twin boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The headlamps look sharper and have projector lights on offer, and there are arrowhead-shaped housings on each end with round foglamps with chrome bezels.
The Hyundai Aura comes with a coupe-like roofline and a set of diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the rear, the car gets a sculpted boot lid, with new wrap-around taillamps with the 3D outer lens, and a chrome strip connecting them to create the impression of one single design element.
The Hyundai Aura measures 3,995mm in length, stands 1,680 mm wide and 1,520 mm tall. The car comes with a wheelbase of 2450 mm and boot space stands at 402 litres. The overall car has been designed to make it more aerodynamic.
The Hyundai Aura gets all-new interior, in-line with the Grand i10 Nios' cabin. The dual tone treatment with the textured effect on the dashboard with contrast coloured bezels around the air-con vents.
At the rear, the Hyundai Aura comes with bench seats with a foldable central armrest, adjustable head rests, and premium fabric upholstery with contrast red stitching that gives its an upmarket look.
The Hyundai Aura comes with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include push-button engine start-stop function, Automatic climate control, premium fit-and-finish, among others.
The Hyundai Aura also comes with rear AC vents at the centre along with a 12V charging socket for additional comfort and convenience of the rear passengers.
Under the hood, the Hyundai Aura comes with the option of 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine, and all are BS6 compliant. Options include a 1.2-litre petrol, a 1.2-litre oil burner, and new 1.0 GDI turbo petrol engine.
The Hyundai Aura's naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.2-litre diesel engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, along with an optional AMT transmission. The 1.0 GDI turbo petrol unit comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
