Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI
The Skoda Rapid has received some major updates this year. While the cosmetic changes made to the car are minimal, the biggest change is the addition of a new turbocharged 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. The car also comes with a bunch of new and updates features.
The 2020 Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI comes in a total of five variants - Rider, Ambition, Onyx, Style, and Monte Carlo. This one right here, is the top-of-the-line Monte Carlo variant will all the bells and whistles.
The Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI Monte Carlo comes with a revised black grille, flanked by LED projector headlamp and integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The car also features black ORVMs and a black roof adding to its sporty styling.
The top-end Rapid 1.0 TSI variant comes with a set of 16-inch Clubber-style dual tone alloy wheels, with the Monte Carlo badge on the B-pillar. The overall design, however, looks similar to the previous model.
At the rear, the updates Rapid sedan comes with a black trunk spoiler, smoked LED taillamps, and full body-coloured rear bumper.
The cabin of the 2020 Rapid 1.0 TSI comes with a fresh look thanks to the revised dashboard, which now features a flat-bottom, multi-functional steering wheel. The cabin also gets the Monte Carlo edition black and grey upholstery with contrast red accents and stitching.
The Skoda Rapid sedan also comes with a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. The system comes with SmartLink tech and inbuilt navigation. Other features include automatic climate control, 12V power socket for both front and rear passengers.
The biggest highlight of the car is the 999 cc, Turbocharged Stratified Injection (TSI) engine, which is tuned to churn out 108 bhp at 5000-5500 rpm, and 175 Nm at 1750-4000 rpm.
Transmissions options for the Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI include a 6-speed manual gearbox, which we have right here, along with an optional 7-speed automatic torque converter.
The Rapid undercuts all its rivals as the base variant starts at Rs. 7.49 lakh and if you always wanted to buy one, it's more accessible than ever before. The top-end variant of the car is currently priced at Rs. 11.79 lakh (All prices ex-showroom, India).
