Production-Spec Koenigsegg Gemera Debuts With Up to 2,269 bhp

Koenigsegg’s four-seater hypercar benefits from a new more powerful electric motor, new 9-speed gearbox and a Jesko-derived V8
The production Gemera gets notable changes under the skin though the overall design stays unchanged from the concept car that debuted in 2020. The interior too stays in line with the concept with a four-seat layout
What’s to Know?
The Gemera retains the 3-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine from the concept now gets a new singular “Dark Matter” e-motor in place of the concept’s tri-motor set-up. The petrol mill pushes out 591 bhp and 600 Nm while the electric motor develops 789 bhp and 1,250 Nm
Three-Cylinder Hybrid Powertrain
The production-spec Gemera also gains a second engine option – the 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the Jesko. The unit pushes out a mammoth 1,479 bhp and 1,500 Nm and with the electric motor factored in develops a jaw-dropping 2,268 bhp and 2,750 Nm
New V8 Hybrid
Koenigsegg has also taken the intervening years since the unveil of the concept to develop a new gearbox for the production car. The Regera-based direct drive is replaced by a 9-speed Light Speed Transmission that features seven clutch plates to cycle through the gears faster than a DCT. Power is sent to all four wheels
New Gearbox
Koenigsegg has unveiled a new production facility to roll out the Gemera. Production is set to commence in late 2024 with deliveries starting from 2025
Will Go Into Production
By End-2024
