The fourth-generation Yamaha MT-07 has been revealed with major upgrades to the chassis, electronics, and design. Here’s what’s new on the latest MT-07.
The new MT-07 uses a more rigid tubular steel chassis, while the design looks sharper and more muscular than the predecessor.
Power on the MT-07 comes from the 690 cc CP2 parallel-twin engine that’s been reworked for 72.4 bhp and 66.88 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The motor gets a ride-by-wire throttle with three ride modes, along with Yamaha's Y-AMT transmission that debuted on the MT-09. The bike also gets a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity.
The MT-07 comes gets 41 mm USD front forks and a preload adjustable rear monoshock. The bike weighs 183 kg, 1 kg lighter thanks to lighter wheels among other changes.
It’s unclear if the new Yamaha MT-07 is slated for the Indian market. The bike will compete with the Triumph Street Triple 765 when it arrives here.
