BYD currently offers 3 EVs in India — Seal, Atto 3, and eMax 7.
BYD is set to expand its line-up to four cars by next year, and the next model in their arsenal, like the Atto 3, will also be an SUV.
The upcoming electric SUV from BYD will be positioned in the premium segment, and is likely to be priced in the 30–50 lakh price bracket.
BYD may consider bringing its Seal U SUV to India, which will be larger than the Atto 3. Internationally, it gets 71.8 kWh and 87 kWh battery options, and a WLTP range of over 500 kms.
BYD India head Rajeev Chauhan said that BYD will be ready to launch hybrids in India if the business opportunity presents itself, but for now, it will focus purely on EVs.
