Final Nissan GT-R R35 Rolls Off The Production Line

This marks the end of a production run spanning almost two decades, with around 48,000units produced and sold worldwide.

Production Details

The final GT-R unit rolled out of Nissan's Tochigi plant in Japan after 18 years. It is a Premium Edition T-Spec finished in Midnight Purple

Where It All Began

The story of the R35 GT-R started at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, first shown as a concept with the production model debuting in 2007. Sales in Japan began late 2007 and it entered GT500 racing in 2008.

Its Journey

Over the years, Nissan also introduced more performance-focused versions like the GT-R Nismo in 2013 & special editions to mark 45 years & 50 years of the ‘GT-R’ nameplate.

Engine

In its last stock setup, the GT-R came with a 565 bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. Power was sent to all four wheels via Nissan’s famed ATESA-ETS AWD system & a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

To Make A Return

Nissan has confirmed that the iconic nameplate will return sometime in the future. Nissan’s new CEO Ivan Espinosa acknowledged the significance of the badge & said the GT-R will evolve & reemerge in the future.
