Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the India-spec e Vitara, its first EV for the country. Built at the Hansalpur, Gujarat plant from Aug 2025, production also supports exports.
It gets 49 kWh and 61 kWh packs across 3 variants: Delta, Zeta, & Alpha. Power ranges from 142 to 172 bhp, with up to 543 km ARAI range. It also has the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)option
Maruti has added 2,000 chargers across 1,100+ cities. Its ‘e for me’ app enables locating, booking, & paying for charging. The goal: 1 lakh public stations by 2030
The e Vitara mirrors the eVX concept with sharp headlamps, Y-shaped DRLs, bold cladding, & connected tail lamps. It’s 4,275 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,640 mm tall, with 7mono & 4 dual-tone colours.
It gets a 10.25-inch infotainment & 10.1-inch digital cluster, flat-bottom wheel, & physical climate keys. Top trims add 19-inch alloys, ventilated seats, & wireless phone charging
Bookings are expected to commence soon, while the carmaker is expected to announce prices in the first month of the calendar year 2026.
