Maruti Discloses Production Plans For e Vitara

In its recent annual earnings call, Maruti revealed that it plans to produce up to 70,000 units of the e Vitara electric SUV at its Gujarat facility in the financial year 2025-26

Exports To Be Prioritised

Majority of the units of Suzuki's first-ever EV will be exported to global markets, including some in Europe and Japan as well.

Platform

The e Vitara is based on an EV-specific version of Suzuki's Heartect platform.

Battery Pack Choices And Range 

The electric SUV will come with both 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery pack options. The former will be available only in front-wheel drive(FWD) guise, while the latter will get optional all-wheel drive (AWD) in global markets.

Powertrain Output

The single-motor 49kWh variant will develop 142 bhp and 192.5 Nm, while the single-motor set-up paired with the larger battery makes 172 bhp. The all-wheel drive setup generates 181 bhp and 300Nm. In terms of driving range. Suzuki has said that the e Vitara will offer up to 428 km of range depending on the powertrain configuration

Battery Warranty

Suzuki plans to offer the e Vitara with a 10-year battery warranty, although only in international markets.
