The facelifted Model Y was part of a group of 23 cars which were tested in the latest round of Euro NCAP crash tests.
It scored a five-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test assessments
Euro NCAP rated the Model Y 91%, noting a stable shell & good adult protection in frontal& side tests. Chest safety was marginal in the pole test, while far-side, centre airbag & whiplashscores were good
The Model Y scored 93%, earning full points for child protection in frontal & side testsusing 6- & 10-year dummies. All approved seats fit properly, though it lost marks for therestraint types offered.
The Model Y scored 86% for VRU safety, offering mostly good pedestrian protection except at the A-pillar & screen base. Its autonomous systems also detected & avoided cyclists &motorcyclists.
Euro NCAP awarded the updated Model Y a 92 per cent score, with the agency noting that all systems were working well.
