Called the ‘Tekton’, it will be underpinned by the same platform as its upcoming Renault sibling (likely to be the new Duster).
The Tekt on will be Nissan’s second go at the compact SUV segment following the discontinuation of the Terrano around six years back.
The Tekton gets a bold design with a large grille, L-shaped headlamps with a lightbar, sculpted bumper & bonnet, plus C-shaped tail lamps & cladding that emphasise its rugged SUV stance.
Although not much is known about its interior, an image shared from the presentation revealed the co-driver side of the dashboard, suggesting the use of soft touch materials, gloss black & body-painted trim.
The new Tekton will be manufactured in partnership with Renault at the plant in Chennai alongside its Renault-badged sister model, which is also expected to arrive next year
It will be Nissan's third mass market model for the Indian market & second all-new product for 2026. Nissan would also be launching its own derivative of the Renault Triber in the market as well.
