Tata Altroz Facelift Driven

Tata Altroz has received a proper midlife refresh after five years of going on sale. We have now driven the updated hatchback's diesel and CNG versions to tell you which one you should pick.

Design

It has received small nips and tucks on the outside to make it dapper than before. New touches include dual-pod LED headlights, flush door handles, and connected LED taillights.

Cabin

Cabin sees minor updates in the form of a redesigned dashboard, dual 10.25-inch displays, and a fresh two-spoke steering wheel. Other revisions include new upholstery and touch-enabled climate control.

Performance

The diesel engine is torquery and tractable enough. The gearbox is clunky and shifts are notchy. CNG model needs time for overtakes.

Ride and Handling

Handles speed bumps and undulation better than before, harshness dosent't seep into the cabin easily.

Verdict

The Altroz is now smarter, better-equipped, and still very much oriented for an Indian buyer. Compared to its rivals, it still has a higher safety quotient, more practicality and powertrain choices.
