The carmaker has frequently beaten Hyundai & Mahindra to the second place in passenger vehicles sales, & in September, it once again became the second-most sought-after brand for new cars.
Tata sold 33,960 combustion engine cars, & 5,749 electric vehicles, for a combined monthly registration figure of 39,709 vehicles, thereby beating Mahindra (35,658 units) &Hyundai (33,081 units).
Tata delivered over 10,000 vehicles to customers on the first day of Navratri & demand received a shot in the arm with the implementation of lower GST rates on passenger vehicles.
Tata revealed the Nexon had its best-ever sales performance in September, with over 22,500 units dispatched to dealers, which is also the highest monthly sales ever for a single Tatapassenger vehicle.
September was not Tata's best sales month of 2025 as it’s nearly a 25 per cent drop from its highest sales this year in January (over 53,000 passenger vehicles registered).
Maruti Suzuki led with over 1.06 lakh units, while Toyota completed the top five with 18,708 units. Completing the top 10 were Kia (16,229), Skoda-VW (6,363), MG (4,583), Honda(3,149) & Renault (2,460).
