Toyota India has issued a voluntary recall for the new Camry over a software issue that affects the car’s 360-degree cameras
The recall affects 2,257 units of the Camry manufactured between July 2024 & September2025
Toyota has identified faulty software in the Parking Assist ECU that may cause the rearview camera feed to freeze or not activate if reverse is engaged or the ignition is cycled within a specific time frame
Owners of the affected vehicles will be voluntarily contacted by Toyota to have their vehicles inspected & will be offered a fix if the problem is observed
As far as safety recalls go, it’s unlikely to have any severe consequences in day-to-day driving, though drivers should avoid solely relying on the rearview camera display when reversing
The ninth-generation Camry was launched in India in late 2024. It comes in a single fully loaded variant, with a special edition Camry Sprint Edition also on offer at no additional cost
