Toyota has finally introduced mild-hybrid tech (called the NeoDrive) on the India-spec Fortuner and it’s available with both standard and Legender versions of the SUV.
The mild-hybrid tech is offered with only the four-wheel drive automatic variant of the SUV and across both the versions. Deliveries of the Fortuner NeoDrive will begin in the thirdweek of June
The standard variant with the mild-hybrid tech costs 44.72 lakh, while the Legender mild-hybrid setup is priced at Rs 50.09 lakh (ex-showroom)
The 48-volt mild-hybrid system has a belt-integrated starter generator and a lithium-ionbattery that recharges when the SUV decelerates, recouping braking energy, whilst alsoboosting braking performance
New features for the Fortuner NeoDrive include wireless phone charging and drive andtraction modes. Toyota will also offer 360-degree cameras on the SUV, but as an optionalaccessory only
The SUV continues with its 201 bhp, 500 Nm diesel engine, paired with a six-speedautomatic transmission.
