The Japanese carmaker has spun off its sub-brand ‘Century’ as a separate nameplate &will be placed atop the Toyota brand ladder as a new flagship luxury division above Lexus.
The concept sports a body-coloured cheese-grater grille with the Century phoenix emblem, quad headlamps, & SUV-like proportions. It also stands out with a coupe roofline &unique three-door layout.
Inside, the co-driver seat is removed to create limo-like rear space, separated by a vertical partition. The driver gets a yoke steering, digital cluster, & twin side displays for infotainment controls.
It also includes a roof-mounted central spine with a built-in coat hanger, an umbrella slot behind the passenger seat, & a rotating rear seat for easier ingress and egress.
No powertrain details have been shared for the coupe, though it could feature the same strong hybrid set-up as the standard SUV if it makes it to production.
Toyota also showcased a sportier-looking Century GRMN with blacked-out detailing as well as a Century SUV Tailor Made in what could be a new customisation programme.
