The all-new TVS Orbiter is the brand’s second EV after the iQube, built with practicality at its core. We got a short stint with it at TVS’ Hosur test track, & here’s our first take.
The Orbiter impresses with minimalistic, futuristic design, crisp lines, dual-tone panels, LED lighting, & compact, practical stance. Build quality is solid, though minor panel gaps exist.
The Orbiter stands out with cruise control, hill-hold, park assist, full-LED lights, 5.5-inchLCD, SmartXonnect app, USB charging, & practical storage for a premium feel in a budget EV.
The Orbiter packs a 3.1 kWh battery with a 2.5 kW hub motor, City/Eco modes, drum brakes with CBS, telescopic front forks, adjustable rear shocks, & 14/12-inch wheels for agile, stable city rides.
The Orbiter is light, nimble, & easy to handle. City/Eco modes cap speed at 68/46 kmph for efficiency, giving around 100 to 115 km range. Brakes, suspension, cruise control, & hill-holdwork well.
The Orbiter has a 650W portable charger, so charging from 0 to 80% takes a little over 4 hours, while full charge takes longer. The battery gets a 3-year standard warranty, extendable by2 years.
