Highlights

BMW has released two teaser sketches of the M6 GT3 set to make its racing debut for the 2016 season. The car will serve as a replacement of the Z4 GT3 which will be retired at the end of 2015. BMW Motorsport is planning to conduct preliminary testing in the first quarter of next year.

The development of the car is already in progress and details about the unit that will go under the hood have been revealed. Power will come from the same twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 which we've seen in the road-going car but it will be further modified for racing applications. BMW's engineers will also conduct some chassis optimizations to meet racetrack demands and the car will also benefit from race-spec ABS, gearbox and electronics.

Those who are interested in the BMW M6 GT3 will be able to place an order sometime next year.
