Highlights

Bentley announced that it will unveil a petrol-electric concept car at next week's Beijing Motor Show. No guesses for what they've called it - the Hybrid Concept.

Based on the regular-production Mulsanne sedan, Bentley promises that the sedan will boast 25% more power than its petrol-driven counterpart while CO2 emissions would be down by up to 70%. On electricity alone, the Hybrid car will be able to travel for 49kms.

The rest of the technical details are still under wraps but there is a lot (other than the powertrain) that differentiates the Hybrid Concept from the Mulsanne. There are copper accents on the grille, head lamps, calipers and the centre caps on the alloy wheels. Additional copper trim is found on the dashboard and the center console as well as in the instrument cluster.

"There is no doubt that plug-in hybrid technology is true to Bentley's values of outstanding luxury and effortless performance," explained company chairman Wolfgang Schreiber in a statement. "By the end of the decade, at least 90% of our production will be available as a plug-in hybrid."

The car will be unveiled on the 20th of April and we'll get you all the information then.
