    Preetam is a seasoned motoring journalist with a specialisation and passion for two-wheelers, even though every now and then he tries to take off on long multi-day drives to the mountains as well. He has been riding motorcycles since the early 1990s and started touring since the late ‘90s when motorcycle touring was an almost unheard-of concept. He has owned all sorts of motorcycles, from two-stroke singles, twins and four-stroke thumpers and multi-cylinder models.     Government policy with regard to changes for new vehicles needs to be more consistent, the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers Association (SIAM) has said. SIAM Executive Director (Technical) KK Gandhi told CarandBike.com that though automobile manufacturers are ready and prepared to take up any challenges new policy decisions bring about, the government should give sufficient time for manufacturers to prepare and make changes to new vehicles. The SIAM statement comes at a time when the Environment Pollution Control Authority (EPCA) has told the Supreme Court that only Bharat Stage VI (BS VI) compliant vehicles should be allowed to be sold from 1 April 2020.

    TVS Motor Company will be launching the much-awaited TVS Apache RTR 310 in July this year.
