    Preetam is a seasoned motoring journalist with a specialisation and passion for two-wheelers, even though every now and then he tries to take off on long multi-day drives to the mountains as well. He has been riding motorcycles since the early 1990s and started touring since the late ‘90s when motorcycle touring was an almost unheard-of concept. He has owned all sorts of motorcycles, from two-stroke singles, twins and four-stroke thumpers and multi-cylinder models. He’s been heading two-wheeler content at car&bike for close to 8 years and helps provide a key perspective to all two-wheeler industry and product-related stories.     US President Donald Trump has said in his address to Congress that Harley-Davidson has expressed concern that its motorcycles faced tariffs as high as 100 per cent in overseas markets. Although Trump didn't specifically mention India, import tariff on luxury motorcycles in India are over 100 per cent. Harley-Davidson's export sales account for over 30 per cent of motorcycles sold outside the United States. Earlier this month, Trump met Harley-Davidson executives in Washington and said in his address that he was told business was good, but could be better in other countries.

    Bajaj Auto has upgraded its 200 cc Pulsars with updated engines meeting Bharat Stage IV emission regulations. The new, full-faired Bajaj Pulsar RS200 now comes with the auto headlamp on function as well and continues with advanced technology fuel injection, anti-lock brakes (ABS) and twin projector headlamps. The Pulsar RS200 will be available in two new colours with updated graphics - Racing Blue and Graphite Black. Prices start at Rs 1,21,881 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the non-ABS variant and the ABS variant is priced at Rs 1,33,833 (ex-showroom Delhi).

    Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) will launch the Honda Africa Twin by mid-2017, senior HMSI officials have confirmed to carandbike.com. The adventure motorcycle from Honda was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in February 2016 and has generated a lot of interest among the motorcycle touring crowd in India. The Honda Africa Twin or Honda CRF1000L, as it's also called, will be brought to India as knocked down kits and assembled in India. Only one variant will be available for the Indian market.
