The Lexus RX 450h is one of the first models to be launched in India by the Japanese luxury car brand, which began its India operations today. Available in two options – RX Luxury and RX F-Sport, the hybrid crossover has been priced at Rs. 1.07 crore and 1.09 crore respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is currently the most expensive Lexus model in India and stands as a competition to the Volvo XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid.
The RX is the brand's most successful hybrid SUV to date. The futuristic design and bold styling coupled with the car’s hybrid powertrain has aided the company’s brand image. The RX 450h features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED taillamps and a roof-mounted spoiler. There’s a generous amount of space inside and the cabin too is very intuitive. Inside, you get a remote touch controller in the centre console with a larger stick-out display on the dashboard.
The RX 450h is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 VVT-i petrol engine that comes paired with an electric motor and belts out a combined output of 308 bhp and develops a peak torque of 335 Nm. The transmission options are handled by an E-CVT automatic gearbox and 0-100 is achieved in about 7.8 seconds.
