Lexus is Toyota’s premium arm which is currently available in various global markets. The Japanese auto maker had been evaluating options to introduce Lexus premium brand in India and it seems they have finally decided to bring the brand to Indian market in August this year. The premium segment in India is presently dominated by the German triad-Mercedes Benz, Audi and BMW, therefore to withstand stiff competition, Lexus had to have a plan. Initially, the brand may come up with hybrid cars, followed by other models. For now, Lexus is considering to bring hybrid version of RX 450h compact SUV, after which it may launch GS 450h and LS 600h saloons in India.
