Highlights

Now that the premium hatchback segment's three cars - Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto and Hyundai i20 have received updates, the only product that is yet to be refreshed is the segment-topper, Maruti Swift. But that's not going to be the case for long, as Maruti Suzuki India is planning to launch the updated Swift in November.

Since the changes will be quite minimal, calling it a facelift is a sin. Though the car is expected to be more feature-rich than before. The most significant updates that the car is expected to receive are L-Shaped LEDs, revised fog lamps and bumper with silver detailing. The top-of-the-line variant might also get a new set of alloy wheels, while the trims with steel wheel get new covers. The top-end variant may also get a new Boost Blue metallic shade. Since the vehicle will be similar to the one already on sale in Europe, we expect it to get the new stop-lamp design, as seen in the European model.

The cabin too might get some changes like new blue and grey lined seat fabric, auto-up touch functions for the front passenger's window, start-stop button and electronically adjustable side view mirrors. Mechanically, the 2014 Swift facelift will remain unchanged with the existing engine options - 1.3-litre multijet diesel and 1.2-litre K-Series petrol.
