The Maruti Suzuki Baleno has crossed many a milestone in its successful journey in the market. The new Baleno has a wide range of new features. While a different Auto gearbox has taken some of the spirit away it'll appeal to the money conscious. So, it really hasn't remained true to the premium tag! But it is all the tech that has really made the Baleno a car for the present and even the future, one that is more than capable of taking on its popular rivals.

The Hyundai Elite i20 is a family dependable premium hatchback. It is absolutely reliable and comfortable. With all the features it has to offer, it sets itself apart in that department, and that turbo engine makes it a pocket rocket for sure. It ticks all the right boxes in the ride and handling department, but is that enough to stay ahead in that segment? We think, it's enough to call it the new benchmark!

It has got IMT, DCT, auto and regular manual. It has two-tone or monotone paint jobs. Two trim lines and of course two petrol and one diesel engine to choose from. Compared to the two Korean SUVs, the top-spec Nexon misses out on features like wireless charging or ventilated seats. However, these are quite exclusive features anyway so, none of the other SUVs in this segment like - Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, or Ford EcoSport offer these as well.

The new Brezza does feel refreshed and more energetic thanks to the new petrol motor and the mild facelift. Although, the value-for-money proposition takes a hit with the Venue and the Nexon offering more features and pricing is much more competitive than that of the new Brezza. Plus, with the Kia Sonet coming in, the Vitara Brezza facelift has its work cut out, keeping its crown as the undisputed king of the subcompact SUV segment.

There's lots of things to like about this car. There's lots of things that you might find fault with but it’s the pricing of the C3 that really shines out. At a starting price of Rs. 5.71 lakh Citroen has certainly let a cat amongst the pigeons and yes even with the glaring omission of the automatic, it still stands out

This car is good value for those who value a car that offers luxury, comfort, music, safety and above all elegant looks. It is currently one of the best options in the subcompact SUV space, and its competitive pricing makes it a no-brainer. The SUV is stylish, feature-packed and offers great performance. However, it's closest rival Sonet does come with a few extra premium features and a more powerful diesel engine as well, but it’s still up to Rs. 1.2-lakh more expensive than the Venue.

The car from Kia is a people mover. The MPV segment remains nascent in India and with the Kia Carens, it is expected to expand. It is not surprising that the Kia Carens is a well-rounded package. It comes across as premium, well-appointed, comfortable, and roomy. And the good looks will certainly only help its cause. It is not powerful or sporty, and so it lets you down on performance - which appears to be its Achilles heel.

A capable family car now gets even more capable with the launch of the new Ertiga. It is priced well, comes packed to the gills with features and is more spacious too. It also handles and performs better and honestly, apart from the fact that it could have had a better set of wheels, LED daytime running lights with LED headlamps and that the automatic desperately needs a fully loaded Z+ model, Maruti Suzuki yet again have made a great package.

Looking at the overall package, the car looks handsome and rugged, it offers decent driving experience and packs in features which are adequate enough! The value for money proposition is quite high with the Kiger, thanks to the excellent pricing and enough trim options to choose from. The subcompact SUV space is crowded no doubt, but the Kiger has what it takes to jostle around and make some space for itself!
