Maruti Suzuki Brezza Features & Specifications
Detail
The much-awaited Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Facelift petrol has been launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 7.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base LXi variant, going all the way up to Rs. 11.20 lakh for the range topping ZXI+ AT trim. The subcompact SUV finally gets a petrol engine that meets the BS6 emission norms, but the 1.3-litre diesel engine has been discontinued. The Vitara Brezza facelift is powered by the 1.5-litre K-Series petrol motor that has made its way into a number of Maruti Suzuki cars in recent times and aims to offer a balance between power and efficiency. This also brings the Vitara Brezza out of the sub-4-metre tax bracket with the engine capacity exceeding 1200 cc.
The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza comes with visual upgrades that include a new grille, revised bumper with larger air intakes and a faux skid plate. The headlamps have been reworked and get new LED daytime running lights and LED projector lens. The model also gets LED fog lamps with new housing and auto-folding ORVMs. The profile has been unchanged but now comes with new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the taillights have been revamped and get the new LED treatment with a revised signature light design. The Vitara Brezza facelift looks refreshing without straying too much from the older model. The cabin gets only the necessary updates and that includes revised upholstery, new leather-wrapped steering wheel, sliding front armrest and an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SmartPlay Studio 2.0. The new set-up is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. With major changes, the SUV continues to seat five with a generous boot on offer but the layout remains unchanged on the model. Other features on the Vitara Brezza facelift including remote central locking with keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, tilt-adjustable steering, 60:40 split and folding rear seats, auto-sensing wipers and more.
The new Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift is powered by the 1.5-litre petrol motor that is tuned for 102 bhp at 6000 rpm and 134 Nm of peak torque at 4400 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque convertor automatic, with the latter replacing the AMT unit that was paired to the diesel engine. The new motor comes with the brand's mild-hybrid SHVS technology. The mild-hybrid system is restricted to the automatic variants and aims to improve fuel efficiency and lower emissions on the subcompact SUV. Maruti Suzuki claims a fuel-efficiency figure of 1.703 kmpl on the petrol manual and 18.76 kmpl on the petrol automatic version. Maruti Suzuki is offering the Vitara Brezza facelift in four trims - LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+. It competes against a number of offerings including the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and the likes. The SUV is sold via the Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships pan India.
