Top 9 Off-road Bikes in India

Hero XPulse 200

Price Starts at ₹ 97,000

Launched Date

May 01, 2019

Variants

3 Petrol
Possibly the most recognisable and popular product in the market currently, the Hero Xpulse 200 4V is the most affordable entry-level ADV. Out of the numerous positives, the motorycle has possibly the most refined engine in the segment, with superior ergonomics aiding young riders as well as seasoned riders. But, the cons are equally worrying as better set of brakes, and a lower seat would've helped. Plus the lack of top-end torque doesn't really work in the case of an ADV.

Royal Enfield Himalayan

Price Starts at ₹ 2.16 L

Launched Date

Mar 15, 2016

Variants

4 Petrol
The Royal Enfield Himalayan definitely is a good bike, and the more time you spend time with it, the more you begin appreciating it. Sure, it has its weaknesses, and more power, less weight, better brakes et al, would have worked wonders to make it even better. But eventually, what matters is that it's a simple motorcycle that will charm you with its simplicity, whether you're the city commuter, relaxed highway cruiser, or trudging along broken trails.

KTM 390 Adventure

Price Starts at ₹ 2.81 L

Launched Date

Jan 21, 2020

Variants

3 Petrol
"The long-travel suspension of the KTM 390 Adventure is built to handle all kinds of terrain, and the motor is punchy enough to keep even experienced riders entertained. At ₹ 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the KTM 390 Adventure may seem a little pricey, but if you consider the superb off-road capability, coupled with the features and electronics package, there's no doubt that there's nothing quite like it yet, at that price point.

BMW G 310 GS

Price Starts at ₹ 2.9 L

Launched Date

Jul 18, 2018

Variants

1 Petrol
The BMW G 310 GS offers good performance on the road, be it smooth or broken. It is also game for mild off-roading and light trail-riding but anything more extreme, you might want to look at other options and at ₹ 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) it doesn't quite fall in the realm of affordable. If you are looking for something more rugged and industrial, you could check out the Royal Enfield Himalayan which is almost half the price of the G 310 GS.

Yezdi Adventure

Price Starts at ₹ 2.1 L

Launched Date

Jan 13, 2022

Variants

4 Petrol
The Yezdi Adventure can certainly take on rough terrain and ticks all the boxes as an entry-level adventure bike. The engine has been tuned for the most power amongst the Yezdi range, and the 29.8 bhp comes at a relatively higher 8,000 rpm. Peak torque is also respectable, with just under 30 Nm, kicking in at 6,500 rpm. But the Yezdi Adventure needed a flatter torque curve, with more low-end torque and more punch lower in the revs.

Yezdi Scrambler

Price Starts at ₹ 2.1 L

Launched Date

Jan 13, 2022

Variants

7 Petrol
The Yezdi Scrambler Icon offers one of the entry points into the Yezdi brand. The Scrambler is a neo-retro model offering a comfortable riding position, torquey engine and compact size, making it an easy and entertaining package for riders upgrading from smaller machines. The only drawback is the lack of wind protection for highway rides, and the bothersome engine heat when used in the city, especially in stop-go traffic.

Royal Enfield Scram 411

Price Starts at ₹ 2.03 L

Launched Date

Mar 15, 2022

Variants

4 Petrol
"The Scram 411 not just extends the Himalayan family, but also offers a more compact and accessible model, something that has all the qualities to appeal to a diverse range of customers - vibrant colours, compact and more accessible size, and an attractive sticker price. The fact that it does everything quite well that is expected from a bike with the Himalayan name in it, makes the Scram 411 a winner in our books!

KTM 250 Adventure

Price Starts at ₹ 2.42 L

Launched Date

Nov 20, 2020

Variants

2 Petrol
The KTM 250 Adventure is quite a likeable motorcycle. In fact, our time with it was brief, and I still can't stop thinking about it, to spend some more time. It offers an unintimidating package, and experienced riders may feel the lack of performance, but it still manages to be enjoyable, and entertaining even. But with this ₹ 2.48 lakh price tag, it's still a slightly expensive proposition, although it ticks off all the boxes to be a versatile entry-level adventure bike.

Suzuki V-Strom SX 250

Price Starts at ₹ 2.12 L

Launched Date

Apr 07, 2022

Variants

1 Petrol
There is no doubt about the fact that there are a lot of takers for motorcycles like the V-Strom SX. Popping colours, tall stance, mini-ADV looks, decent capability and not super heavy on the pocket. It does have a lot of capability, great highway manners and for a motorcycle that costs less than two and a half lakh rupees, it makes great sense even in a segment that is loaded with options such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
