The Tucson is a good blend of a comfortable and spacious and yet compact SUV that offers good driving dynamics and great interior tech. Design could be slightly polarising but the Tucson does have some great road presence and would certainly be a product we would recommend over the conventional ₹ 20 lakh sedan. The Tucson, as we mentioned earlier also gaps the range between the Creta and the Santa Fe.

Most will find the car smooth and easy to operate - and yes will overlook any flaws due to that impressive ride quality. The C5 Aircross has Eco and Sport drive modes, and even though there is no all wheel drive Citroën offers something called 'Grip Control' that sends necessary traction to the front wheels. In Europe, you have two petrol engine options as well as a plug-in hybrid. The latter could have been great for India - as a progressive statement-making model.

Now, only 100 units of the EV6 are coming to India so, the big play then is exclusivity! And it's selective dealerships where it will be available. We expect prices to be around the 55 to 60 lakh rupees quadrant and that means it will go up against the likes of the Volvo XC40 recharge. But with what the EV6 has to offer, I am very sure, Kia will sell the first batch of these cars with ease. There will be takers and those who want a comfortable, futuristic and absolutely sexy EV in their garage.

The Fortuner’s Road presence is hard to beat and that reflects in the fact that it has been the segment leader for long. This one feels a lot more than just a facelift and if the number of bookings the company has received for this new vehicle is anything to go by, that order isn't going to change anytime soon.

The hybrid then takes the fight to the Passat and even the Superb here, which, though priced lower, do not get to boast of a hybrid powertrain. With the new generation of the Camry then, you certainly see Toyota taking a leap in terms of looks, drivability and sustainability too. It's the right mixture then, and you could hear even Zeus and Prometheus say this when demi-gods were born. So you see, even the Gods loved hybrids; we, on the other hand are mere mortals.

The main thing to consider here is the feasibility of introducing a product in a segment which has started to dry up. In my opinion, the Skoda Superb should do just fine as the car still offers great value, despite no longer being able to offer the sub-20 lakh price the last one did at launch. You get so much equipment here - Apple CarPlay, all sorts of driver aids, and safety features - it is all fantastic.

The Carnival comes to India as a Completely Knocked Down kit, and while it has all the makings of a benchmark MPV, its higher price tag and the fact that Kia is still a relatively new brand is making a lot of MPV buyers shy away from the product. That said, it is undoubtedly a solid product and if you are out looking for a large, premium, chauffeur-driven vehicle, that can also double up as a family car or maybe a workplace on wheels, then you must consider the Kia Carnival.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is available in only one, fully loaded, Elegance variant, which was launched at an introductory price of ₹ 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). In comparison, the top-end petrol variant of the Jeep Compass is ₹ 5.65 lakh cheaper, whereas the Tucson is nearly ₹ 7.60 lakh less expensive. On the other hand, the diesel-only C5 AirCross is about 80,000 more expensive than the Tiguan. However, none of those models come with an all-wheel-drive system. 

The prices for the Kodiaq begin at ₹ 35 lakh and go all the way up to ₹ 37.49 lakh this top-end version. Skoda then has played it smartly with the pricing of the Kodiaq. it absolutely hits the sweet spot. No wonder then that it has already sold the first batch of cars. The Kodiaq is engaging and with the update looks to power through all the competitors in its segment, but the Fortuner will surely be one strong cookie to crumble, and we can't wait to compare them both to find out.

The MG Gloster will take on rivals such as the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and the Mahindra Alturas G4. The MG Gloster has a lot to offer. It is really, really big, feels solidly built, offers a lot of features and creature comfort options and the driving experience is quite good too. What could have been better though is the overall design, which seems to be inspired by many, many sources. But all things considered, the Gloster does seem to be a good full-size SUV in the offing.

Due to the demand for pickup trucks in the international market, the Thai version of D-Max provides a variety of functions and a series of safety functions. Isuzu even launched the D-Max pickup in Europe earlier this year. Isuzu D-Max is a magnificent car with excellent performance. It has a good reputation in the market. The car offers all the modern features and the customers are extremely satisfied.

The ride quality is slightly on the bouncier side but again, not to the extent of being uncomfortable. Driving the Alturas G4, you definitely get the feel of solidity that every Mahindra SUV boasts of. It goes up against established rivals such as the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Isuzu MUX. The Alturas G4 is impressive as an overall package! It has solid road presence, has a tonne of features, well-appointed cabin and has a decent engine too.

The new E-Class debuts with comprehensive changes on exterior styling and design, significant interior updates along with the integration of latest new-generation NTG 6 telematics and of course the MBUX system, which makes it a connected car. Prices of the E-Class top out at ₹ 80.9 lakh (ex-showroom India). The rear has been newly designed and the new split tail light design gives it a fresh appeal.

The A4 facelift continues to be a comfortable and a spacious sedan with enough room for 4 people. The upholstery looks and feels premium and the rear seat offers good amount of headroom and knee room should you be one of those who spend more time at the rear. The new Audi A4 does look good and with the equipment on offer, it can do a number on the Volvo S60. The A4 is the car which shaped Audi's brand identity in India and it will continue to be an important car for the company in our market.

The prices are competitive enough and BMW will like to believe that the lack of a credible rival at this stage will help it capture the compact premium sedan market. The premium car buyer in India will like that it retains its traditional strengths and yet gives a bit more by way of luxury and comfort, giving it a more all-rounder appeal than before. Expect to see a few of these on the roads - could have been more - had the automobile market not been badly hammered down as it were.

The overall quality of materials within the cabin appears to have improved over its predecessor.
