Tata Tigor Launch: Highlights

Highlights
Tata Tigor subcompact sedan has been launched in India at Rs. 4.70 lakh though it had been available for bookings since earlier this month. Tata Motors' sub-4 metre sedan, previously known as the Kite 5, debuted at the 2016 Auto Expo before recently making an appearance at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 along with the Nexon subcompact SUV. Underpinned by the same platform as that of the Tata Tiago hatchback, the Tigor also borrows a handful of design cues from its sibling - especially at the front. The sedan's rear, on the other hand, helps it stand out in the crowded subcompact sedan segment that fields cars such as the Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire, and the Volkswagen Ameo. The Tata Tigor, essentially sub-4 metre sedan variation of the Tiago, also borrows its engine options from the hatchback: the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and the 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel. To know how these engines perform, read our Tata Tigor review. Inside, the carmaker has equipped the Tigor with features such as a Harman touchscreen infotainment system with eight speakers, AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, Android smartphone-based navigation and steering-mounted audio controls.
