Following the roll-out of the Sport SV Black and the Defender Octa Black, Jaguar Land Rover has given the darkened treatment to its Range Rover SV. Land Rover has introduced the Range Rover SV Black Edition, the latest model to adopt the brand’s popular blacked-out theme.

The RR SV Black Edition wears a Narvik Black finish with gloss black detailing on elements such as the grille, badging, lettering, and tailgate trim. The 23-inch alloy wheels also receive a gloss black finish, along with brake calipers that now feature darker branding. At the rear, the SUV includes a black ceramic SV roundel, which is popularly finished in white otherwise.

Coming to the interior, the dark theme continues with an all-black interior featuring ebony leather upholstery. Additionally, it gets a satin-black ceramic gearshift lever and black birch wood trim. Moreover, Range Rover has made its Body-and-Soul Seat (BASS) and Sensory Floor systems standard on all SV trims. These features use built-in sensors in the seats and floor to create vibrations that match the music, aimed at letting passengers feel the sound as well as hear it.

Powering the SV Black Edition is a familiar 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 606 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels, and the luxury SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a claimed 4.5 seconds.

The Range Rover SV Black Edition will be offered globally in both standard wheelbase (five-seat) and long-wheelbase configurations, the latter available in four- or five-seat layouts. This version joins the SV Serenity and SV Intrepid editions as one of the available SV design themes. While both of those variants were launched in India, it is yet to be confirmed whether the Black Edition will also be made available.  

 

The Indian market recently saw the launch of two limited-edition Range Rover SV models: the SV Masara Edition and the SV Ranthambore Edition, each limited to 12 units. The former was priced at Rs 4.99 crore and the latter at Rs 4.98 crore (all prices ex-showroom).
