Ducati's Danilo Petrucci became the seventh different winner of the season, while Honda and Alex Marquez secured their first podium of the season in the wet and crash-ridden 2020 French GP.

Petronas Yamaha SRT rider Fabio Quartararo beat Pramac Ducati's Jack Miller in the final seconds of qualifying by just 0.222s, while Danilo Petrucci on the factory Ducati starts third in his best qualifying session in the season so far.

Ducati rider Danilo Petrucci crossed the chequered flag to claim his maiden MotoGP victory, after a climactic battle with reigning world champion Marc Marquez. Petrucci secured his first-ever win at his home ground in Mugello, after a few near finishes earlier in the season. The last laps of the Italian Grand Prix formed most of the excitement as Petrucci led to victory by a gap of just 0.043s over Marquez. Coming in third was Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso taking the last place on the podium.

Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez took his third consecutive win of the 2018 MotoGP season, sealing the victory at Le Mans. The Spaniard started second on the grid behind Tech 3 Yamaha's Johann Zarco managed to take a late lead almost halfway into the race and then went on to secure yet another win for the season. Finishing behind Marquez were Danil Petrucci of Pramac Ducati finishing second, by a gap of 2.7 seconds, while Valentino Rossi made a strong recovery to third, having start sixth on the grid.

Tech 3 Yamaha rider Johann Zarco posted the fastest lap in qualifying for the French Grand Prix and will be starting the race from pole tomorrow. The Frenchman broke the lap record at the Le Mans circuit with a time of 1m31.185s, beating reigning world champion Marc Marquez of Honda by 0.108s. Finishing behind Marquez was Pramac Ducati's Danilo Petrucci, 0.196s behind Zarco and the second satellite rider in the front row.
