The seventh and eighth Rounds of the Blancpain GT Series Asia 2018 were held at the Fuji Speedway over the weekend, and saw India's Aditya Patel along with teammate Mitch Gilbert manage to grab points in one of the two races. The weekend was a mixed one for the OD Racing Team drivers as the duo's Audi R8 LMS GT3 faced a disadvantage over the other cars due to Balance of Performance regulations.

2018 Blancpain GT Asia: Aditya Patel & Mitch Gilbert Gain Points In Fuji Speedway Double Header

Team ODRacing drivers Aditya Patel and Mitch Gilbert showed slow but firm recovery in Round 2 of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Asia. Unlike last season though, where ODRacing was a top contender for the title, Patel and Gilbert managed to stay in the middle order for Race 1 securing crucial points, while Race 2 saw the drivers finish outside of the top 10 standings.

Mumbai-based racer Aditya Patel had a disappointing start to the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Asia Championship season opener at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. The OD Racing Team WRT driver along with teammate Mitch Gilbert, faced a disaster in Race 1 after a mechanical issue forced them to retire early from what could've been a podium finish. Meanwhile, the drivers managed to pick up just a single point in Race 2.

Indian racing driver Aditya Patel has announced that he will be returning to the Blancpain GT Series Asia for the 2018 season of the championship. The Indian contingent made his debut in the series last year and ended the championship on a high with a double win in the final race, while missing the championship title by a single point.

Indian racing contingent Aditya Patel was the first runner up in the inaugural Blancpain GT Series Asia losing out to Hunter Abbott. Patel lost the title by a single point, despite hm and his teammate Mitch Gilbert registering a double win over the weekend, becoming the first crew ever crew to do so in the series.
