The Mahindra XUV300 is one of the nicer subcompact SUVs in India. First launched in 2019, the XUV300 has been in the market for three years and is certainly a good option if you are looking for a powerful, well-built subcompact. However, it is still a bit pricier compared to some of the popular models in the subcompact SUV space. So, if you are planning to get an XUV300 on a budget, then we would suggest looking for a pre-owned one. But before you start looking for one, here are some pros and cons you must consider.
The Mahindra XUV300 holds a 5-star safety rating for the Global NCAP, for adult occupant protection.
Pros
- The Mahindra XUV300 is a handsome-looking SUV with boxy and muscular proportions. Depending on the variant, you get premium features like LED headlights, LED DRLs, sporty alloys, roof rails, and LED taillights.
- Mahindra offers a pair of powerful turbocharged petrol and diesel engines which offer amazing performance and come with the option of both manual and AMT choices.
- The XUV300 holds a 5-star safety rating for the Global NCAP, for adult occupant protection. It also has one of the highest scores for child occupant protection with a 4-star rating.
- The XUV300 gets a spacious cabin big enough for 5 adults. Depending on the variant you also get features like a touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Mahindra Blue Sense app, and a sunroof.
While the XUV300's cabin is spacious, the interior design is still a bit dated.
Cons
- The XUV300 is still a relatively new car, plus due to its expensive price tag, the new car volumes are also not extremely high. This means the number of options available in the used car space will be limited.
- Most premium features like electric sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are only offered with the top-end trim. So, if they are your priority then the available options further go down.
- While the XUV300's cabin is spacious, the interior design is still a bit dated. There are too many buttons, and the plastic quality could also have been better.
- Being just over 2 years old, the XUV300 still holds some value in the market, so even a used one will not exactly be cheap. Expect a minimum price tag of at least Rs. 8 lakh.
