The 2021 Bajaj Platina 100 ES has been launched in India. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 53,920 (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price point, the Platina 100 ES is the most affordable electric-start bike available in the Indian market. The kick-start model of the Platina 100 was launched in December last year at Rs. 51,667 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike comes fitted with features like spring-in-spring suspension, tubeless tyres, and more. The two-wheeler manufacturer offers Platina 100 motorcycle in three variants – ES Disc, ES Drum and KS.
The Bajaj Platina 100 is available in two colours - Cocktail Wine Red and Ebony Black with Silver decals. As far as dimensions are concerned, the Platina 100 measures 2,006 mm in length, 704 mm in width, 1,076 mm in height while the wheelbase and ground clearance stand at 1,255 mm and 200 mm respectively. It gets a fuel tank with a capacity of 11-litres. The kerb weight is 119 kg for the ES Disc variant while the other two variants weigh 117 kg.
As for features, the Platina 100 gets tubeless tyres, 20 per cent longer front & rear suspension, long seat, LED DRL headlamp, wide rubber footpads and more. For braking, the bike uses 130 mm drum brake at the front and 110 mm drum with CBS at both the rear. However, the ES Disc model uses 240 mm disc upfront and 110 mm drum setup at the back. The motorcycle gets telescopic suspension upfront and spring-in-spring hydraulic shock absorbers with Nitrox Gas Canister at the rear. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres at both the ends.
In terms of engine specifications, the Platina 100 comes powered by a BS6-compliant 102 cc, single-cylinder, SOHC, air-cooled engine. The motor with DTS-I technology is tuned to make 7.77 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm against the peak torque of 8.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The motor is clubbed to a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox.
