What's New?

Hero MotoCorp has refreshed the Pleasure scooter over 10 years after the 100 cc bike was first dispatched. The new Hero Pleasure Plus 110 gets refreshed styling and an all the more remarkable 110 cc motor and will supplant the 100 cc Hero Pleasure. While the Hero Pleasure was launched principally as a scooter for lady riders, presently Hero MotoCorp has positioned Pleasure Plus, as a uni-sex bike, which can be ridden by both women and men. The general shape and measurements of the Pleasure Plus are almost like the active Pleasure, however, the styling and bodywork have gone through a total change to make it an all-new bike.
The body weight is much lower than the competitors. 14 litres of under-seat storage is provided with Pleasure Plus and it has the features like a mobile charging socket. Despite the integrated braking system, there is no disc brake in the front. It has a 110 cc, single-cylinder engine giving a torque of 5500 rpm, maximum power of 8 bhp at 7500 rpm. The fuel economy is 69kmpl.

Verdict

Hero MotoCorp has reexamined the Hero Pleasure Plus 110 right around 10 years after its dispatch. The most recent updated highlights incorporate changed styling and motor relocation of 110 cc which is more impressive than the 100 cc Pleasure bike. The Hero Pleasure Plus offers a BS6 consistent motor which guarantees better mileage and an increase in speed by 10%.  The bike is light and offers simple riding around the city.

Introduction

Hero MotoCorp has come up with a revamped version of Pleasure, the Hero Pleasure Plus 110 almost a decade after its market dispatch. The “Why should boys have all the fun?” tagline was an immediate marketing hit. The impact was such that Pleasure became responsible for the creation of the entry-level, segment of scooters specifically targeting the Indian female demographic. Thankfully, this tagline has kept Pleasure relevant for over a decade. Over the years since its launch, it has been marketed more as a unisex scooter ridden by both men and women. The proportions and stance are identical to the Activa Pleasure to some extent, but the bodywork and styling have gone through a major transformation.

How is the design?

Styling is the first impression before diving into specifications like handling, features and ride quality. The design of Hero Pleasure Plus 110 has significantly changed to become sharper and edgier, matching the appearance of the 1970s. Going retro is in fact an adulation, because the scooters belonging to that era were so much prettier. However, Hero is not the first to have adopted the evocative styling and therefore the front, the headlight in particular is inspired from Suzuki Access 125 and the bodywork has some resemblance with Yamaha Fascino. That being said, Pleasure PLus 110 still flaunts a uniqueness with seven shades to offer. The rear pillion section flexes more than required when the rider’s half is occupied, and so does its plastic body panels. The modified front cover is totally a new addition, giving the scooter an exquisite combination of exemplary and current styling. Compared to its rival, Scooty Zest, which has never been revamped since its launch, the Pleasure Plus 110 gets a substantial makeover. Other additions to it are the new USB charging socket right next to the front glove box and the new under-seat light.

How is the performance?

The older Pleasure was surprisingly the highest capacity motorcycle in this capacity when it was first introduced. Earlier, when some of the potential rivals of Pleasure such as Kinetic Zing, Bajaj Spirit and TVS Scooty all achieved something around the 80cc mark, Hero Pleasure was carrying a 102-cc unit. But there have been tremendous changes in the two-wheeler business landscape and 100 cc units are not enough anymore. As a result, Pleasure Plus gets a 110.9 cc unit that makes 8.1 hp of power and 8.7 Nm of peak torque.  It has become an incredible knock in power, for its small capacity. Although the lower kerb weight provides improved acceleration. There are chances of getting uncomfortable and losing momentum, one the scooter hits its speed limit. Finding a passing traffic and workable space, this scooter does not require any kind of exertion; and the motor feels pretty smooth and seamless at 40-60 kmph. The 10-inch wheels at the front and the rear concern lightweight scooters by making the ride feel too fast to be manoeuvred and this will not be an exception for some of the most refined riders. The Pleasure Plus does not have a similar impression, that it can overlay at any point. However, there is a slight inclination at the front end.

How does the Hero Pleasure Plus 110 ride?

It takes a few minutes till you become familiar with the Pleasure Plus 110. The reduced 765 mm seat height, the lighter kerb weight of 110 kg and the powerful engine makes it a learning scooter for novice riders. There is a kind of agility in its momentum, but may not feel very stable because it is run by 10-inch wheels on both ends. It comes with a trailing arm suspension at the front, and drum brake which perfectly live up to the expectations of the riders. It serves the purpose of a beginner-level scooter and is now supported with combined braking and other advanced features.

How comfortable is the Hero Pleasure Plus 110?

The Hero Pleasure Plus 110 is tough on the inside and stylish on the outside for endowing a difficulty-free experience. The scooter has been remodelled with the Xsens innovation of Hero that uses smart sensors to distinguish between diverse riding situations. The more powerful engine makes the riding experience pleasurable from the start. This new scooter is designed to keep the accommodation and solace of the riders at a cutting edge. Overall, the level of comfort is well-suited and acceptable for the original purpose of the scooter.

How's the tech?

The instrument cluster of the scooter is rather plain and basic without a digital readout, consisting of a comprehensible odometer, fuel level indicator and speedometer. The side-stand indicator is a significant additional touch. There are some chubby openings under the handlebars that include a portable charging port. The switch gear feels premium and decent. There is an additional search LED light. The fuel-filling cap is at an irritant position and requires flipping the seat every time the scooter needs a refill.

How's the mileage of the Hero Pleasure Plus 110?

The Hero Pleasure Plus 110 gives an average mileage of 69 kmpl which is pretty good for its kind.

Is the Hero Pleasure Plus 110 a good value for money?

This scooter costs only Rs 2000 more than the previous 100 cc model, despite the modifications it has gone through. It can easily undercut some of the potential rivals in terms of price and mileage such as Honda Activa 6G which can only give an average mileage of 45 kmpl. TVS Scooty Zest, Honda Activa-i, TVS Wego and Yamaha Fascino are more expensive. This means it is a very good value for money.

How is the after sales service?

The first four services offered by Hero for PLeasure Plus 110 are free of cost. The first service is granted after 1 month or 500 km, the second after 5 months or 3000 km, the 3rd one after 8 months or 6000 km and the final one after 12 months or 9000 km. The following services are chargeable.

Which scooters compete in this segment?

Some of the rival scooters that compete in the same segment as Pleasure PLus are Honda Activa 6G, TVS Scooty Zest, Honda Activa-i, TVS Wego and Yamaha Fascino.

Verdict (Value for money)

The Pleasure Plus 110 is BS6 compliant but there has not been much of a price hike. Moreover, it is fuel efficient and provides long term comfort to the rider set off for daily commuting. This scooter has set high performance standards and the improved features enhance its riding quality. This scooter is a very good value for money.
