TVS Racing will not be participating in the 2021 Dakar Rally but will back Indian rider Harith Noah who will compete as a privateer on the Sherco TVS RTR 450 motorcycle.

TVS Racing Pulls Out Of Dakar 2021; Harith Noah To Participate As a Privateer

Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team has announced its four rider squad that will be participating in the 2020 Dakar Rally. The team includes seasoned racer Michael Metge of France, Enduro Champion Lorenzo Santolino of Spain and Johnny Aubert of France, along with Indias ace rider Harith Noah set to make his Dakar debut next year. The announcement was made at the maiden edition of TVS MotoSoul in Goa, a congregation of owners and biking enthusiasts from across the country. The 2020 Dakar Rally will be held between January 5-17 next year, in Saudi Arabia for the first time, shifting base from South America.

Sherco TVS Announces 4 Rider Squad For Dakar Rally 2020

Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team is all set to enter the 2019 Rally of Morocco starting this weekend and will be fielding a three-rider squad with racers Michael Metge, Lorenzo Santolino and Johnny Aubert. The Rally of Morocco is the final round of FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship and will take place between October 3-9, 2019. The racers will cover a distance of 2500 km, and will be spread over five stages during the six-day run. It includes bikes, quads, trucks, cars and SSV categories. The rally will see 160 participants traversing through the dunes and tricky trails of the Moroccan desert across Erfoud and Fez.

Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team To Field 3 Rider Squad In Rally Of Morocco 2019

The third stage of the 2019 PanAfrica Rally was its longest and saw a mixed performance from the Indian teams across the varied terrain of Merzouga in Africa. Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team led the race overall but lost two of its riders after Lorenzo Santolino and Michael Metge had to abandon the stage over technical issues. Meanwhile, Adrien Metge had an impressive run finishing Stage 3 at P2, 04m39s behind stage leader Jacopo Cerutti of Solarys Racing Team, and is now placed first in the overall rankings. Teammate Johnny Aubert lost considerable ground in comparison and finished the stage at P14, and is also placed 14th in the overall rankings.

PanAfrica Rally 2019: Adrien Metge Moves Up To P1 After Stage 3; CS Santosh Breaks Into Top 5

Defending champions, Sherco TVS Rally Team continued to maintain their dominance with a top three finish in the 2019 PanAfrica Rally in Morocco. The second day comprising 275 km of the special stage saw Michael Metge lead the rally once again, followed by Lorenzo Santolino and Adrien Metge in P2 and P3 respectively. Hero Motosports Team Rally rider Joaquim Rodrigues (JRod) finished at P4 after leading the rally at the end of the prologue stage. In his first race with Sherco TVS, Johnny Aubert finished Stage 1 in sixth place. India's CS Santosh managed to finish in ninth place, maintaining a promising start for the Indian team, but Sherco TVS rider Abdul Wahid Tanveer had to retire from the race in the prologue stage after sustaining an injury.
