BMW M340i

Introduction 

• The BMW M340i is the most performance oriented 3 Series sold below the full-fat M3.  

• It features the carmaker’s M-tuned chassis hardware and an all-wheel drive.  

• A highlight of the M340i is that it won the Performance Car of the Year award at the 2022 Car India Awards.  

• To mark the 50th Anniversary of the BMW 3 Series, a limited ‘50 Jahre’ edition of the M340i was launched in India. 

BMW M340i – Exterior 

• The M340i’s fascia gets a sporty bumper design, signature kidney grille, and darkened detailing that distinguishes it from its other siblings. 

• It features an upside-down ‘L’ shaped adaptive LED headlamps and DRLs.  

• Some variants also receive BMW’s Laserlight with blue accents.   

• This car includes a low-slung front apron with large, hexagonal air inlets to optimize airflow and engine cooling. 

• In its sides, the car boasts 19-inch M alloy wheels shod with run-flat tyres.  

• At the rear, it has a prominent diffuser, an M rear spoiler, and L-shaped LED taillamps. 

BMW M340i – Interior 

• Inside the M340i, its M Sport seats come upholstered in optional genuine Vernasca leather or an Alcantara/Sensatec combination. 

• Its high-gloss carbon fibre interior trim strips have replaced the previous Aluminium Tetragon in newer models.  

• On the tech side, the car features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. 

• This infotainment touchscreen supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.  

• BMW offers the M340i with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon Surround Sound system for a premium audio experience.  

• Other features include ambient lighting, three-zone automatic climate control, type-C ports, and a wireless smartphone charging tray. 

BMW M340i – Powertrain 

• The M340i is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine.  

• This mill delivers a power output of 392bhp and 500Nm of torque.  

• Moreover, this engine comes mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
