How is the design of the Hero Achiever?

Hero Achiever is a typical commuter vehicle with a straightforward design. Hero Achiever comes in three different colours - Valor Grey, Noble Black, Fiery Red. When compared with its predecessors there haven't been many changes done to this bike except the headlamp cluster and the fuel tank.

When it comes to the body, the 3D design gives a muscular feel to the fuel tank. The uplifted handlebar, just like a typical commuter, adds comfort for a better riding position. The mirror is painted the same as body colour which is a subtle addition to the overall design.

Achiever comes with an old fashioned analogue speedometer including other indicators like fuel, signal, RPM meter and the trip meter. The lack of a digital indicator is a major drawback of this model.

The AHO headlamps & alloy wheels are a new addition to the new model. The tail lamp uses a halogen bulb. Also, the indicators are bulb type which is less appealing in general.

However, the chrome design of the exhaust shield and the carbon black silencer is a great add-on. The chain is fully covered which is quite good keeping in mind that it will get enough protection from dust and dirt.
Overall, we can say that the build quality of the Hero Achiever is pretty good and is as expected from Herocorp.

How does the Hero Achiever ride?

Hero achiever comes with a smooth engine and a reliable transmission system. The bike is powered by a 149.1cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that can produce up to 13.59 bhp and 12.8Nm of torque. It has a telescopic hydraulic shock absorber in the front and a swing arm adjustable shock absorber in the rear. This gives you a smooth ride even through moderately rough roads.

Hero Achiever has a 5-speed transmission system with a heel to toe shift. Well, the braking system is topped up with a 240mm disc brake in the front and a 130mm drum unit at the rear which will give you enough safety. Also, the 18-inch alloy tyres give you the proper balance and better comfort even at high speeds. However, at a speed above 90kmph, we can feel shivering which can be expected from a 150cc engine. The top speed of Hero Achiever 150 is 110kmph.

The fuel efficiency is maintained by the i3S system which shuts the engine if it is idle for more than 5 secs. The engine is easily turned on by clutching. This is very useful in saving fuel if you are riding through heavy traffic.

How comfortable is the Hero Achiever?

Hero Achiever has a cosy riding experience. The weight of the vehicle is around 139kg which feels quite easy to handle. The seat height of Hero Achiever is 800 mm and it has a ground clearance of 160 mm.
Hero Achiever is perfect for daily commuting and even for long rides. The wide and long seat gives you superior comfort. For the pillion rider, a standard saree guard and extra footpeg are given.

Hero Achiever promises a smooth gear shift. Even at lower speeds, you will not find the grumpiness of shifting. Being a commuter vehicle, Hero Achiever ensures to offer the rider a smooth riding experience.Hero Achiever it will surely gives the pleasant riding experience back from work every other day.

How’s the tech?

When talking about the technology used in the Hero Achiever, the prominent feature is the i3S(idle-stop-start-system) system. The system is developed by Herocorp itself to increase fuel efficiency. Achiever 150 is one of the first bikes in this range to implement it. The technology is really good and proven to be effective in congested cities.

The i3S system enables the engine to temporarily shut down and restart with the press of the clutch. This prevents the engine from being idle and saves fuel.

In addition to this, the Achiever has a self-starter which helps you turn it on without the hustle of kick-starting.

Achiever comes with an automatic headlamp on (AHO) system that is currently mandatory for all vehicles. The headlamps are a halogen multi-deflected type that uses AC. What’s missing here is a LED light which is a snag comparatively.

How is the mileage of the Hero Achiever?

Fuel efficiency is the key feature of Achiever. The company offers a mileage of 60 kmpl. However, you can expect only around 50-55 kmpl in cities. The fuel system is a CV with Throttle Sensor. The fuel tank
can carry up to 13 litres. Achiever has a 1.8-litre reserve so you won’t have to worry about getting lost in the middle of the road.

The fuel efficiency is maintained by the i3S system which enables it to shut down the engine if it goes idle for more than 5 seconds. So, if you are in heavy traffic where you will be met with such instances the i3S system can efficiently save your fuel with this technology.

At this price range and power, fuel efficiency is comparatively one of the best features of the Hero Achiever 150.

How is the performance of Hero Achiever?

Hero Achiever has the same engine as Hero Unicorn 150 and Hero Hero CBZ. This is a better quality and performance engine you can get in this range. The 149.1cc, air-cooled, four-stroke, OHC single-cylinder engine gives better power and the five-speed gearbox grinds a net power of 13.4bhp at 8,000rpm with a max torque of 12.80Nm at 5,000rpm.

The bike can pull off a speed of up to 90 kmph without buzzing the engine. Achiever is undoubtedly qualified for the city rides and daily travelling without hurting your back.

One of the drawbacks we can see is not having a 6th gear. However, Hero Achiever is a middle-range bike with moderate performance.
A fuel-efficient bike with a minimal feature for this price tag is quite satisfactory.

Is the Hero Achiever a good value?

We can say that Hero Achiever is a budget-friendly bike with moderate performance. The Achiever is a good fit for anyone looking for an upgrade from a lower cc to something better.

Achiever is also a very low maintenance bike that will save your pocket. The bike comes with moderate performance features and a decent design which is admissible when you look at the other features this bike has to offer.

You can purchase Hero Achiever within a price range of Rs 61,800 - Rs 69,550 (ex-showroom price in Delhi). When compared with the other models in this segment Achiever is good value for money.

Anyhow, there are a few performance drawbacks., The Achiever could have been an absolute winner in this segment if the company had included these necessary improvements.
